After two-years of service at the Valley Trauma Center and working at the Santa Clarita Domestic Violence Center, she joined the Porter Ranch Counseling Center. Adriana provides evaluation and treatment services for children, adolescents and adults with histories of trauma, mood, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, behavior problems and attention deficit disorder.
Adriana also specializes in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), in grief and loss, and working with couples and marriage counseling. She works with clients of all ages from children to the elderly, who have experienced a traumatic event. Her Marster of Science degree was earned in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State Univeristy, Northridge, accredited by the American Psychological Assoication. Selin has completed her traineeship at the Valley Trauma Center and also gained much experience working in school settings and home setting with patients with learning, behavioral and medical conditions. In her practice, Selin has an emphasis on learning, behavioral and medical differences, treating children, teens and adults. She focuses and addresses the challenges presented by patients experiencing cancer/leukemia diagnosis, fibromyalgia, crohn's disorder, lupus disorder and other medical conditions or illnesses, apsperger's disorder, autism, add/adhd, dyslexia, opposisional defiant disorder, anxiety and panic disorder and depression.
In addition to her work with children, parents and families, Selin treats adults and couples. She authored the book "Attachment-Based Strategies to Improve Self-Esteem: A Guide to Mental Health Professionals" in 2013 Her areas of emphasis in therapy include but not limited to improving self-esteem and confidence, attachment, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, couples and marriage counseling, parenting challenges, behavior problems, medical problems, divorce, separation and co-parenting issues.
