Children & Teen Psychotherapy

"The way we talk to children becomes their inner voice"

- Peggy O'Mara -

Get the right tips, tools and understanding to cultivate a more desired connection and relationship with your child through Children, Teen and Family Therapy. Misunderstandings are a common phenomenon in families. From newly married couples to families with adult children, families of all sizes and situations can sometimes use a little help with ongoing challenges.

While parents may be juggling work, marriage, and parenting, adolescents may be tripping over the many pitfalls everyone faces during their teenage years. Porter Ranch Counseling helps bridge the gap between your two worlds and helps you speak each other’s language.

Whether you’re two people trying to talk to one another or a large family with children from previous relationships, we can help guide a conversation and support your family in finding your own best methods of communication.

Professional psychotherapy can help your family empathize with one another, as well as help set healthy boundaries, improve communication and connection in your relationships.

Counseling & Children’s Therapy Services

Art and play is our approach to children counseling at Porter Ranch Counseling. A professional psychotherapist can help guide children beyond behavior to the underlying cause of issues at home or at school. By embracing the imagination, we find new channels for the child to communicate emotions like sadness, anger, or fear. And with the same approach via the imagination, we help the child create a healing approach to feelings that were expressed through behavior.

We support children in discovering coping skills as we guide them with additional strategies. Fun sessions can lead to the trust and safety the child needs to feel to nurture their healing, as well as nurture their growth.

Porter Ranch Counseling can help you invest in your family’s future by supporting your journey in creating a better life with our children’s therapy services.
